I saw a really nice "frontier utility" knife in Cabelas cutlery catalog.

Frontier Utility Knife – Handmade out west, this multipurpose knife is a top choice of tradition-minded rendezvous participants and outdoorsmen. The Oregon-forged, 4-3/4" 1095 high-carbon steel blade has an antique, one-of-a-kind look and a unique Mediterranean notch which can be used to strip sinew. American curly maple handles. Includes oil-tanned, top-grain leather sheath.
Overall length: 9-3/8".
Weight: 3 oz.

"Oregon forged 1095"? Anyone know who made this? There are a lot of manufacturers in Oregon? None that produce these kinds of knives, at least that I am aware of. First thought was Wrangler knives, but I've never seen the bigger knives advertised before. Looks like it could be a good user, really good looking either way.

many options for the cabelas version. the sheath is the only difference from lesser priced versions.ragnar ragweed forge has the same style cheaper(the last time i looked)

You really can't go wrong with anything from Cabelas, if you don't like it, they give your money back.

You can see these same kind of knives from trackofthewolf, they're nice but be warned they're usually thin (1/16th) which is fine accept for if you were gonna abuse it.
