frost cutlery BASS PRO SHOPS folding knifes any good

Frost isn't known for high quality.

Bass Pro sells a lot of good stuff, all the major brands in the flagship store in Springfield, MO up the road. But they also sell low line items to the masses. They know their market, and knives over $30 are still laughed at by the small town sportsmen who hunt and fish the area. Most just can't afford, and don't know better.

Walmart doesn't even stock Spyderco here. Too high dollar, I guess.

You'd be better off duct-taping one end of a piece of broken glass and using it as a knife. That way when it breaks and you get hurt, at least you were expecting it.

If you want to try out a Frost, I'd be glad to dispose of 7 dozen of them. I'd be embarassed to charge more than a buck apiece. Anyone selling knives should have a couple on hand to use as comparison models to upsell to a real knife.

Everyone needs one so that they can judge better knives. Just don't spend much money. They cut.

Hi, I am an absolute new member. I have purchased $1,200 worth of every kind of Frost knife to sell them at Flea Markets etc.... I have checked out all name brands and I don't see where the cheap quality is. If you would not mind sharing the specifics. Thank you in advance.

Nuff said there! Let's not forget the quantities of high caliber products that can be found at flea markets.

Cheap locking materials, bad heat treats, and let's not forget the Mall Ninja appeal of some of their dandies:

$240 and you can own this bad boy, which doesn't even have a blade steel listed...thanks, but I'll stick to the duct taped glass as mentioned by the other poster above.

Did you really check out all name brands? And you can't recognize the differences between a quality knife like Spyderco and a Frost knife? Really??? I don't want to be rude but even the president of Frost knives would be able to see where the cheap quality is.

I'm guessing you could impress the average wal-mart knife buyer with the apparent quality of frost cutlery. That being said coming into a forum that is dedicated to knife buying nuts who know what 154cm and D2 mean and you're not going to have much luck. I actually spent the $5 for a frost folder. No comparison to my Benchmade, Kershaw, or Spyderco knives. In some cases you actually get what you pay for.

P.S. I've actually picked up a couple of nice finds at flea markets. You just have to know what your buying and what your paying for it.

Back in the '80's the guys would put together a Frost order from a wholesaler to get unusual patterns not available from the US makers. They were economical, at best.

Rough Rider is a better deal by far, these days, and I first saw it at the flea market. It looks about like the Frost quality of the '80's, and that was their high point. At a dollar a knife now, Frost is junk.
