The company is in the US, but the knives are manufactured in China. No rants. You get what you pay for.

I am glad they have those tv shows at 3/4:00 am when you can't sleep. Its better than watching an infomercial for a vacuum ;)

Great knives for the price.

Everyone can agree on that.
I don't agree with that.

Are you buy chance thinking of Frosts of Mora who make excellent traditional knives with quality materials for very low prices? Now those are great knives for the price!

I owned a few Frost Cutlery knives before I became a knife nut, poor materials and below average fit and finish. In most cases you will find the old adages hold true with regard to knives.
1. you get what you pay for. (many frost cutlery knives are under $10)
and
2. if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
however there are a few exceptions to this rule in the knife industry. companies like Opinel, Frosts Mora, Tramontina, and the spyderco Byrd lineup to name a few.

Most of their knives (especially the tactical folders) are not worth the materials they're made out of. However, some of them are better than nothing as users- as long as you know their limitations.

Junk. Do some research.....and buy yourself something nice like a Spyderco Delica....or any of a dozen NICE Kershaw's.... Happy hunting! :D

The traditional pattern steel warrior lineup is decent red china quality. But i suggest spending a few more dollars and getting something a lot better that you can carry with some amount of pride in ownership. Those 125 knife deals for $122 is a bunch of garbage i would be embarrassed for the mailman to see come to my house.

That Made in China torture test that was in TK awhile back says it all.

Yup - very revealing.

Most of their tacticals just plain suck. Some of the traditional patterns are a little better than okay. They're good for beaters and users, if you don't want to mess up a better quality brand.

The nice thing about Frost (Steel Warrior), Rough Rider, Marbles, etc. is that you can try out different patterns, and not be out a lot of money. When you find a pattern you like, plunk down the coin for a good quality brand - where you know the heat-treat is right, the materials are what is advertised, etc. - and toss the others in a drawer or toolbox.

thx - cpr

with most frost cutlery knives you can remove the blade so you could re harden it and heat treat correctly but alot of work for an 8$ knife just buy a better one
