Frost Mora knives for the kitchen?

So here's my dilemma- my household NEEDS some new kitchen knives. Nine out of ten times when something needs cut in the kitchen lately it's being cut by my hunting and camping knives...HI Pen Knife, Bark River Highlanders, Helle fjellman,AG Russell Woodswalker, etc.

My wife agrees that we NEED new kitchen knives, BUT...she will settle for NOTHING less than the Kershaw Shun series, which I aint got the money for.

I'm kinda thinking that until I can save up that kinda fundage, I could get a few of the Frosts to get by. Then when her Kershaws come in I can have lots of nice useful boondockin' knives to throw in my backpack, truck, etc.

So, do you folks that have had 'em think they'd get me by awright in the kitchen? Also wondering what sizes y'all would recommend to get by?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Interesting question. The AG Russell woodswalker looks more like a traditional kitchen\steak knife, and its only 10 bucks without sheath. The Frosts Moras are about the same price, less traditional looking, usually do have a really sharp edge. I think its a good idea, let me know how it works!

The woodswalker is TINYYY. A frosts works really nicely in the kitchen, especially the ones w/o the molded hand guard

While I was deciding which kitchen knives to get my daughter for her new place, I gave her a Mora so she would have at least one good working knife. She couldn't believe how sharp it was. The only thing it couldn't do well was carve a large piece of meat.

I don't use "kitchen" knives. I switch off among my real knives. :D I always keep my CRK Sable III handy, but lately I've been using my BRKTs. That gives me size options: Rogue, Highland, micro-Canadian (garlic knife! :) ), and I just added a Wolf River, which is a razor, an amazing slicer.

The one almost perfect folder for the kitchen is the CUDA Maxx bowie. A Sebenza works well, also. I'd like to try a Skirmish some time. It might work a lot like the Wolf River, with the big belly on it.

Hey,

About all that I use in the kitchen are Victorinox 4" serrated paring knives. I think they're about five bucks each or so. I have five of them. I have never had to sharpen them.

A stainless Frost's mora would be good, like the Clipper or the Tradesman.

Hey Guys..

Frosts for the kitchen..

Ohh ya,, use mine all the time..
Go give them a quick hone on the 2X72 and bingo ready for action..

I think they make fine kitchen knives...

Oh boy, everything from the 2 and a bit inch laminated Mora.I put the handle on, it was soooo cheap!, It holds an edge way better than it aught to for the price...Real handy around the bar b que too.

My Wife and I both use a couple of Eriksson knives in the kitchen. They are GREAT for general purpose work, and the handles on these (Rubber type) are super comfortable. I plan on getting some others like these and give them as Christmas gifts.
