Was just flipping through an old Blade when I saw an ad for a fixed blade from Frost Cutlery called the HumVee. It had a talon hole. The ad described the knife as "officially licensed" just wondering if the talon hole was used with permission? Sorry if this is old news, but I can't get the search to load properly.

ya got any links to past threads? I am gettin an error page when Itry to search, even with advanced search :grumpy:

I know that in the past searching has sometimes been limited to Gold Members and above, that could be the case now.

ive got to say that one of the things that i really like about the Busse company is that rarely do we see fingers being pointed and big deals made out of people "copying." sure we could point out knives like fehrman and beckers and others that are in some ways "ripoffs," but the fact of the matter is that others can copy all they want and they will never be able to be as good. i say screw em, let em imitate, and Jerry should take it as flattery, someone who's going to buy a $20 knife and expect the world isnt really a customer that they would normally have anyhow. this is what sets them apart from other knife makers. just my two cents.

Excelent points and that is a great way to look at it.

As a side note, Beckers are imitated Busses?

What I find most admirable in situations such as those, Jerry is man of integrity and doesn't step to lower levels nor does he speaky poorly of other makers. That is just one of the hundreds of reasons why I support busse combat in all aspects

I agree... Jerry is a man to be admired.

His knives are awesome. No need to debate that.

And beyond that, he know there are bad copy cats out there. He also knows that there are also really good knives out there. Knives that will serve as well as his in most cases.

But he has one thing on his side that no other maker has....INFI...

:D

Go INFI...Go INFI... :D

Goooo INFI :D

Edited to add: What does the acronym I-N-F-I stand for? (The search function died on me again  )

I'm sure Jerry will see this.

I don't think there is any good reason to bring up any issues (percieved copying, alledged imitation, etc.) outside the title topic, as it will not serve any good purpose.

I agree with thatMguy. I've only briefly owned one Busse, which I sold due to a need for funds, and it was one great knife. However, I've hung around these forums quite a bit, and from everything I've seen here, Jerry seems to be one heck of a stand up character. I also have to say, that he seems to attract a better brand of customer as well, I've seen some incredible generosity among members of this forum (Crowinghorse's bolo, Kim's 3 Finger, etc...) and I'm sure Jerry will handle this a professional manner. Just as an aside, can anyone clarify the difference between a trademark, patent, and copyright for me?
