I have used leuko's before, similar to the above which is more like an old butcher blade pattern. They work well on cutting grasses, light vegetation and even small diameter woods, especially the springy ones, chop fast and snappy.

I got a nice Dexter Russel with a 12 inch blade used for industrial food service called the Fish Splitter... it's about 4 millimeters thick... it also takes a hair popping edge, and unlike a machete, it holds it quite well.

There is not a sheath with them but I am sending one to ON Scene Tactical to have one developed.
