Frozen Getaway Camp, Stone Reflector, Strange Food, Fiskars Leather Sheath, Crafts…

Late winter on the East Coast and still cold, with a side of snow. An overnighter and some day trips while sick and weak, but the weather was calling. Got a new leather sheath for the Fiskars X7 I keep in the camp. New food combos to try also.

This was my creek/water source

Fiskars sheath, meant for Estwing Hatchet

Best to wet it and get the axe in, then it will form better.

Nights are long and boring in winter…

Red Eyed Hog outdoors products!

I have treated leather bags, sheaths, and axe handles with this stuff. They grease your pans and keep the rust off your axe!

At my “Getaway Camp” I built a small stone fire wall. It has many advantages like being able to make a fire close to it and having some flat spots to put a coffee cup on. It can be made higher by places damp wood on for drying and retaining heat. I built up the back with rotten, damp scrap wood. Then, placed stones on top.

I favor the Alpaca wool head wrap. One piece that is a hat, scarf, face wrap in one.

Batons

An odd mixture of food I wanted to make something creative with…

First the mash, then beef & gravy with mushrooms.

Snow... I miss it... Should have gone climbing a lot more in winter. But didn't! Great outing!
