Back from Shot Show 2018 I took to the woods for some relaxation and steamed seafood!

A quick snack

Frozen Waterfall

I steam veggies and fish in the outdoors often, but today I wanted to do a seafood and dumpling feast!
I started with maple wood chips at the bottom of the pot, added some spruce trigs (pine and hemlock work too) and a little water to create steam. Food cooks insanely fast this way is very forgiving to burning or overcooking.

Seafood and veggies along with dumplings

Pine needle tea while waiting

I used two hobo stoves and the Burtinsville Rig to keep the water hot for coffee and tea!

Dumplings, white fish, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and shrimp.

Trail out!

You ate those grubs?

Everything else looks very good! How do you make the pine needle tea? Just pour boiling water over the needles?

I've had them in Alabama (tastes like ink there) Georgia, Peru, Philippines, New York, New Jersey...and they all, for the most part taste like the aftertaste of nuts. not bad at all, except these ones in BAMA!

I usually boil the needles in with the water, this time I didn't. It is better for me to boil them all together.
