Howdy all! I'm just dropping a line here because I'm not sure exactly where to turn next. I've been looking for a small sebenza for quite some time now. I never seem to be able to get in on the sales when they come up before someone swoops in with the cash ahead of me. I'm a simple man with a new daughter. All I want is to be able to have an EDC that is simple and satisfying. I think the Sebenza would do that nicely. Personally I look at the sebenza as being somewhat like the Browning 1911 of the knife world. I mean, the 1911 is a purely functional tool with no sense of extra things added on for no reason, just like the Sebenza. Also, like the 1911 you have people who are fans and detractors who will have endless conversations about the merits of the tool. That's what I want. Just like the 1911, I think the Sebenza is a classic tool. Here's the direction/advice I'm seeking:

I have all of these pretty production pieces that are just sitting in the top of my closet not being used because they don't fit where I'm currently living (mostly blade restrictions). On top of that, I just don't want them anymore. I'd like to trade them for a Sebenza, and I would even add cash to make a trade. What I'd like to know is if there is ANYONE here who knows of a place where I might find SOMEONE willing to trade a bunch of really nice production pieces AND CASH for one small sebenza. I don't care if its used, I don't care about steel. All that might be wrong with the thing could be taken care of by refurbishing the knife at CRK. I just want to get rid of a lot of knives I don't use for one that I'll likely use for many years to come. Does ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS???? Thanks, in advance.

I don't mean to sound like I'm whining, but I'm starting to become very frustrated by this whole process!

Sincerely,
Anthony

SpyderJon,

I don't think there are many people that want to trade their Sebenza for a set of pretty production pieces... most of the times it goes the other way aroud, exactly like you want to do now.

You can do the following:

Put your knives up for trade in the Trade Knives/Tools forum here. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=757

Put them up for sale at 'the other' forum (KF). You can't do that here because you need to be a gold member.

Raise money by selling them on Ebay and then buy the Sebenza from one of the on-line dealers. Most of them have a small one in stock.

Good luck.

Ted

I got my first small Sebbie by doing a combination trade/purchase with a vendor at a gun/knife show. This way I was able to combine several knives (Spydies, CRKT and such) with a modest amount of money and got my Sebbie without having to break the bank. I'm sure that you can find a vendor with a Sebbie or two at a gun/knife show in Virginia. Give it a try.

When you get a chance, drop me an email. I can probably help you out. I'm just up the road from ya...

Professor.

I you like, you can drop us an email of your knives you are wishing to trade? Paul
