I picked this up a few years ago and it's just been sitting in a drawer. The knife comes in the original box with a nylon sheath and is in good condition with some faint sheath marks, I added some desert camo paracord. Llet me know if you need additional pics. Very appropriate timing. On this date in 1991 "Kuwait is liberated, Iraq's army is defeated ..."
 
It's made by United. The blade is stainless, but I don't know what type. I've tried googling for more info on this model and haven't come up with anything. It's called a Desert Raider Special Edition Knife. It does look like an EK.
 
My brother-in-law was an army staff sergeant over there at the time and would probably appreciate (in his own, introverted way) something commemorative to hang on his wall. Kinda funny but to know him you would never know he was ever even involved in any of it. When the subject of Iraq comes up, he either shakes his head or laughs to himself. I tried to get him to tell me about it but he just asked me to mind my own F'n business. (no offence was intended, I'm sure) Our nephew (his brother's and my wife's brother's son) got wasted over there in Oct of '05 (IED casualty) and it seems to have made him more reticent than ever. I know he's proud of his service but he really plays it close to his vest on that one. I think this would be a subtle but deliberate way to let him know that we're all proud of him and Wilgene T. Lieto as well. (Wil was from Saipan, CNMI and attached to an Army Reserve Unit out of Hawaii)

If the knife came from United then it is probably made out of 420-J2 which takes a nice shine but doesn't hold and edge woth a hoot!!
