Questions:

The Proto I just scored is partly saber ground and half way between the FSH and the HOFSH in thickness and is as heavy as the HOFSH. . It has brown handles with black crinkle coating The handles have allen head screws. The tip of the knife is penetrator style.

First Q: Are the screwed Handles removable or are they epoxied?

2nd Q: Are all the protos done like above with the partial saber grind, ala Mofo/Mefo, full thickness and penetrator tip?

3rd Q: Is the brown handle material Micarta and if so what type?

4th Q: How many protos were made?

Onewhobuys, do you know anything about these. After all you did just sell yours so quickly it was like a ghost inand out of your thread.

Anyone?????

He had that at the last Indy show. It was a nice piece.

I couldn't remember how different it was than the one I'd seen/handled at Blade, nor to the one I had to show at a couple of the shows pre-ordering window.

I don't knwo the souce of that one though, since it was different than the ones I'd seen before. Just hope it is heat treated...

And yes, the handles were a lot larger than the other proto's as well as the production models. Wild.

Wauseon, Wonder Capital of the Universe...

Well, his isn't the only one. I have one just like it now. Here is a pic of the blade.

Here it is next to a std FSH. Check out the high saber grind:

pretty cool. you arent going to use it are you? i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt heat treated, is it sharpened?

Wow...!! I can't believe how flippin thick those handles are.

They look thicker than the Magnums. Hey does anyone know if they are thicker than the Magnums? What the heck are they made of? They're soooo shiny.

Very nice bro.... nice grab!

They look about like the magnums, don't they? See here (mags in tiger canvas, regular in black paper):

I think the fact that they are shiny is causing some of the boggle. I wonder if that is a linen micarta instead of canvas? Looks that way to me.

Aha! Now we see why the ad copy for the HOFSH mentions using a full height flat grind as if it were worthy of special mention. And why the new logo has that funny line in it:

What pictures are you talking about? I don't see any pictures.
There, isn't that what it looks like?

Cobalt, you can't outsmart me. You may have taken down your pics for some unknown reason, possibly to do with the fact that these knives were never supposed to go out of a private little circle of people, but someone else still has a pic up and here it is with brown handles just like the one you listed. It looks more beaten than yours though.:D
So who was the lucky guy to buy that one shown below, huh?

Hmm, wonder if that is a Test Team Knife??

If so, aren't those all normally sent back to the shop for evaluation? Looks like someone broke the rules. Actually, a couple people evidently....

No more test teams for you....:thumbdn:

If this is true, probably no more test teams at all :(

People break the rules everyone get's punished. It's a pity if this is the case.

:(:(

Test team blades they are.

Jerry should have picked more wisely. :D

Specs: Same length as FSH. Thickness 0.25 inch which is a bit thicker than the FSH (0.21 inch). Add to this the Saber grind and you have one very stiff blade.

But Clae and I are the better off for it, so I can't complain. Those FSH Proto's are bound to become the most collectible SH's ever as the Fussion line is by far the Best SH ever and the proto is the basis for the new Logo..

Wow. While I really like my HOFSHs, I suspect them's fighting words for some out there.

Rick - ducking for cover

No fighting words. I have all the SH's, so I can say without a doubt these are what I have always wanted. They are the best looking, the handles are almost as good as the E-handles and the blades have more of a point than the SHSH's.
