FSH SE Question

I have been working on trading this FSH SE for some time now but it seems the trade partner lost interest, or was never very interested:rolleyes:.

But over the months I have had the knife it has grown on me a bit. But I’m not sure how much it is worth and if it has grown on me that much. :foot:

Do you guys have any idea what this might be worth at this point? I may consider selling it before I get too attached to it and just decide to own it for a while.

Thanks,
Tony G

I can't tell you true worth...

I can't imagine selling mine for any less than $700 and, if demanded "Sell it to me now!" I would say:

$650 - awesome deal

$700-850 - low to high average

$950+ would be great! For the seller. ;)

I know I was looking for a double-cut, mag HOGFSH on the secondary market before I bought the SE at Blade - I don't ever remember seeing one for less than $650. Most were higher!

Some examples below in quote boxes.

Solstice sold this in June - Great price, quality mod. Factory DC HOG FSH Black canvas Mags with a Bill Siegle modified primary edge and a un-sharpened swedge. This knife has never been used for nothin’…handled, fondled but only with love and affection! The pictures posted include a DC RW, it’s not for sale nor is it included in this offer/deal…the DC HOG FSH is the really fat one!
No sheath.
PRICE: $650.00

There is a HOGFSH-SE on the exchange at $890. When you consider the excellent Chuddy dangler sheath that goes with it (?? 90 - $120 ??) then that puts it squarely in that average I guessed at above. (I didn't quote or do a direct link since it is an active sale.)

A dc/snake HOGFSH sold in July at $850.

A plain blk/blk mag HOGFSH sold recently @ $625.

Don't listen to Paddling Man. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that knife is worthless. Being a generous guy, I'd be happy to trade you for this one-off custom DDarkest Operator prototype, though! (There are 2 "D"s in the name, for a double dose of deadliness!) DDarkest operator.jpg:thumbup:

This knife is way cooler than any mamby-pamby "Steel Heart". What kind of knife has a girly name like that? It sounds like a name for a car that Barbie would drive. :p

P.S.- please don't crucify me for this, folks. I'm just playing. I would guess the real value of that knife to be upwards of $700. I personally wouldn't be willing to pay more than $800 for it, but I'm broke. It will be interesting to see what effect the upcoming flood of ASH1s on the market has on the prices of earlier SH models. The FBM seems to have really jacked up the value of the earlier mistresses. Or that could simply be all of the Rockstar I've been drinking talking.

Seriously MoonWilson, where do you come up with this stuff? And where do you find the time?

I "THINK" I saw one go unsold on Ebay for a starting price of $850, a little while back.

Can you tell that I'm in an office by myself, and have no supervision?:D I'm getting paid to come up with this stuff. I just finished the show I've been working on for the past 6 months, so I have no art project in the works. I've decided to goof off for a while, so y'all can expect more of this stupidity in the near future.

I may have to get a knifemaker's membership and start my own forum for my fictional cardboard knife and tactical accessory company.

That is my problem at times also. I often work at home and do things like this when I can't bill time:

What was the guy you were originally dealing with willing to pay before he backed out?

That knife is a beauty! Hope you weren't selling yourself short!

Nice, HamFrancisco! Sorry to jack your thread a little bit. I'll try to keep it cool.
Now about that Steel Heart.... I really want one of those. If you like it and don't really need the money, I would hold on to it. It's not like the value is ever going to decrease. If you wait until a few months after the ASH-1 ships, you may be able to get top dollar for it. (Maybe from me!)

It was a trade deal and we never got to value before he lost interest.

Thanks to all of you that helped out here so far.... especially PM for doing some research.

If I do sell it rather than trade or just keep it I'll likely do a “sub-rosa” offering at something reasonable but with an anti-flip clause.

I welcome interesting highjacks.

If it were not for jacking threads I'd have 4,750 fewer posts and this forum would be about as interesting as a life insurance tax seminar or Cobalt's threads about his discussions with Jerry covering how long the different coatings on SHBMs took to dry. :foot:
.

Use it...then you will never let it go!!!

But if I HAD to let it go........get what you have in it back out.....plus shipping.

Bwahaha! True! I have to figure out the proper place to post this stuff. Production is ramping up, I just completed a new model. It's uber-tacticool.

I would agree with Paddling Man.

You are probably already getting offers as this thread happens, but unless you need the cash or are trying to immediately fund another purchase you should hang onto her for trade fodder IMHO.

those weren't threads, they were phone discussions with you.

However, I would say that the FSH SE would go for at least $750 and probably closer $850. That and the FBM SE are just plain awesome. There is an FBM SE on the exchange that I cannot understand how it has not sold yet. Honestly, I would keep it for now.

Interesting how high the logo is on Tony's knife. I wonder what the deal is with that.

The knives all have some of Jerry in them... that logo is about how high he was when he made the knife.

Of course that adds $150 :D

Really -- that's all I ever do.

However, if I didn't already have a FSH SE or two, I'd expect to pay maybe $700 for a pristine version -- which matches PM's prediction.

I only have one FBM SE, and I just would NOT sell that.

All in all -- why not keep it for a year and see how it's appreciated?
