Ok- I know posting this here is asking for it, but I posted this on the "other" forum too- and after all, it is all in the family! :D

Without giving you any reason or any idea what I will use it for, I would like your opinion-

You can only have one  - BR or FSH, which one would you choose and why? (Never mind the price difference)

C'mon and play along- it'll help pass the time 'til the FBM comes out!

I like the FSH handle design better, like the balance on the FSH better, like the width and shape of the blade on the FSH better.

I think I like the FSH better - *BUT* I like the SHSH BEST! :D

I already have and love my Battle Rat.

If and when the FBM comes out I will try to compare them and let you know which one I like better.

For now this is like comparing horses to unicorns! I have seen horses, but I have never seen a unicorn. In fact I have doubted their existence for a very long time.

I have never handled a FSH. (I am very deprived)

Battle Rat w/ pnetr tip , just love it  A light fast chopper... great for camp and back pack:D

OH, the lengendary Penetrator Tip on a BR........I had to sell off my Second born to get one, but it was worth it! It is by far the BEST chopper slicer mix I have found, but I am biased....I don't have a FSH.

Isn't the BR/BM or the CT/SH a better comparison?

True, now if MVF asked about the HOGFSH then all bets are off. Nothing beats it for pure chopping power.... at least until the LE HOGFBM comes out. :D

Actually, while the CT might look more like the FSH than the BR does, the BR is much closer to the same size (length anyway- the proportions are pretty different). And, the FSH is heavier than even the BR, so the CT just wouldn't be in the same class.

Good answers so far, and yes, the FBM could add a whole extra dimension to this, but what I'm trying to find out are things like:

1. Does the longer blade length make the BR a better chopper- or does the extra weight make the FSH better?

2. If you forget about chopping, which blade would be more useful? How and why?

3. Although I know no one here would think of having only one knife, if you were going to have one of these two as your only blade (ok- for your only BIG blade) which would you pick and why? For example, which would go in your emergency bag for an off-road trip?

I think that this would be true if talking about the Ergo line. The fusion line is a different story, IMO.

I would pick the HOGFSH as my desert isle blade, not only over the battle rat, but over any production blade i have ever seen. Now, if i had to pick between the HOGFSH and my Justin Gingrich custom, i would pick whichever one was closest and use it to commit Hara-Kiri... (hopefully it will not come to that, at least until i can get a MOASH and another custom Gingrich...)
