Greetings all,
Up for sale or trade:
I've acquired through trade a Sambar stag-handled Blackjack Yukon Skinner folder. This is the less common blade profile/grind of 'Mamba' type folder. I've been told it is a 1993 model. Right side of the blade says "Yukon Skinner Seki Japan." Left side of the blade has "Blackjack Knives" and the company logo. See photos.
I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but here's the general info:
~3 1/4" x ~1/8" thick blade. Blade is SHARP.
LOA: ~ 7 3/4"
Nickel Silver Frames and front bolsters.
Genuine Sambar Stag handles
I believe this knife uses the '4 point bearing lock' Blackjack used to advertise.
This knife also appears to have the bar installed at assembly to prevent the blade from hitting the lock (its a small bar about 1/2" from the blade pivot in the channel) and increases lateral strength.
As the pictures show, overall, the knife is in very, very good condition, but in full disclosure, it is not mint. There are some light handling marks/scuffs to the knife, most notably to the spine and rear of blade, but they're very light (difficult to photograph) and could probably be easily buffed out by someone who knew what they were doing. Also, the thumb studs are not locked--they rotate and wiggle just a smidge, but that may be how they were originally installed (I'm not sure). No box/papers with this one.
Additional photos available upon request as are links to additional info, including a scan of an old catalog featuring this knife.
If you appreciate 'old time' feel folders and don't need the stealthy G10/blackened/re-curved/serrated 'tacticool' folder, this is a nice one. It's nice enough in fact that if it doesn't sell, I might present it as a gift at Christmas to a relative.
I haven't found too much info on current values of these folders, but I believe when the do pop up (which isn't too often), they're a little north of the $200 mark.
I'm pricing this one for quick sale at $195 $185 $175$165 $150 Shipped & Insured Next 24 hrs..
Reasonable offers considered
Domestic/USA sales only, must be 21 to purchase. Payment by USPS MO only.
Trade interests:
Mid-size Busse knives (Badgers, Satin Jacks, particularly SFNO's, etc)
CRK's Pacific or Umnumzaan
(Plus cash as necessary).
Will be listed elsewhere as well.
Thanks for looking. Email's in my profile for any questions.
