Hi Folks,
I've been pretty busy this past week and haven't had much time to come onto the forums. I'm still here in Dubai where it is a lovely 30oC at the moment. Last week our group went on a 1 d road trip to Fujairah which is part of the UAE and bordered by Oman. Great mountainous landscape. We stayed at a rather nice resort as the group formulated its workplan for this years research. A lot of my shots are taken from the drive in, sorry no camping and no knife shots here. I hope you enjoy the views of this unique Arab landscape. First, the Dubai desert:
The camels are walking around all over the place, but they are all domestic animals.
A couple of shots of the coast:
On the ride in, the sand dunes become replaced by mountains. The mountains here are quite baron. In August, the air temperatures will soar to 50oC. I'm sure a car breakdown here, without water will lead to a quick death. Yes, survival kits would be useful - almost nobody has them! I brought it up to my team members who make this trip rather frequently. Their response was, 'we have cell phones'. Uggh
