My 6347 is starting to turn into an every day knife. Way back when, when I started collecting knives they were Al Mar, Rolox, Jim Serven, Jot Khalsa, Gerber, ect., all of which were safe queens, well, almost. Then I bought a Case, my old 63032, and that remained in my pocket for years. I ende up buying the 6347 to replace the other one some day, and I always thought it to be a bit large for the pocket. Thinking it was at least 4 inches I measured it. It was 3 7/8 to my amasement. Not alot bigger than the usual 3 5/8 Stockman It has been a safe queen for years. All theses years collecting knives for me has been like a search for the perfect knife. This thing has been riding in my pocket long enough to be part of me, and after looking at it's superior fit and finish, I think I found the perfect knife, which also includes Case brand in general.
I am thinking of getting another 63032 in CV. You Can't beat the price at $40 bucks compared to other stockmans of similar F/F, going for twice that.
Mine is a 1980 so my question is, does anyone that has the newer Case stockmans find the F/F as good as or at least almost as good as the older ones?

I have a 6347 also and am starting to carry it daily. I have bought 4 other stockmans in the last year all of them Case. 6.5375, 6375, 3318, (these are in CV) and a 63090.
Last April I found a 3347 (1964-1970) that was just like new. Comparing the new to the old, I think the quality is almost as good as the old one I have. Some of the new ones have a little blade rub, and need a kicker filed down to make them feel better, but that is all personal preference, and doesn't affect the overall F/F of the knives.
If I don't end up with the 6347 as a daily, it will probably be the 3318.
Enjoy your 6347

Boy oh Boy!. They are all great Case Stockman models that you guys mention and if you EDC any of these you have more than enough blade types for any whittling situation that may arise as well.;):D

My first knife that I bought was a case muskrat in 1969. It is sitting on my desk as I type this reply. The blades are thicker and the liners are nickle silver compared to a newer one that I bought last week. I must have 100's of knives both custom and production. You can't beat a case for the money.
