Does anyone actually own a FACTORY one? Ive seen pictures of them and know they exist, where are they?!?
And yes I do know of the two custom made ones here on our forum, and they are lovely, but not what Im looking for.

I think photoshop. No plunge line.

The pictures are from ebay.
You might be right, looks like the plunge line only goes half way up, like this is indeed a sabre 17 that they photoshopped out the sabre grind to make it look like a full flat grind.

I don't think there are flat grinds available as tobiism has said, and I don't think they're photoshopped, either. The traction coating doesn't reflect light very well, and I can see a very subtle spot where the plunge line is in the first photo, and the second photo makes it pretty apparent. Just a misnomer on the part of the seller. Also be damn hard to swedge the clip on an FFG. If you look closely, you can see where the grind line runs into the swedge....

actually...it ain't that hard to swedge a clip on an ffg blade. I went over to ebay and looked it up, zoomed in on the photo and I didn't see any other grind line anywhere. It does look like it really is a full flat. Could somebody from Ka-Bar chime in?

When the 16 and 17 were being released, they were both saber ground and stamped. Around that same time, Ka-Bar switched from stamped logos to etched logos for the Becker line. The stamping machinery Ka-Bar uses requires a saber grind, but the etching process does not. Because of this, Ethan changed the 16 design to a full grind at the last minute. The 17 was not changed.

I do not work for Ka-Bar, but I'm pretty certain a full flat ground factory 17 does not exist.

Agreed, while I'm not 100% certain, I'm 99.something% sure that a FFG production BK17 has never existed.

For what its worth, it looks like the coating on the blade is just making it hard to see where the grind ends in these shots. You can see where the plunge line ends up by the coil. If it was FFG, that would of course go all the way to the top.
