My latest project, a full integral in San Mai Damascus:

Most of you have probably didn't get fooled, but here's a pic that tell's something about the real size of the little one:

Since I got my old mill from a fellow knifemaker, I suffer from a disease that forces me to try out lot's of things with my new toy :D.
So after I messed on a handle this morning I thought why not trying a full integral to get rid of the built up anger.

The result oh this thought can be seen in the above pictures. From time to time it's a little bit frustrating working with the quite small mill, but in the end it's just pure fun watching a little knife being born out of a thick chunk of steel.

I'm gonna keep you informed about the progress of the little one :).

Thanks a lot for your positive comments :).

Although it takes quite a lot of time to do larger work on my small mill, I'm somewhat hooked on integrals. They just look so solid.

I guess I'll have to get some more and larger pieces of damascus to make a full sized integral.

The small one will be heading to Hawai when it's finished. The only thing remaining is fine sanding, etching and fitting the mammoth ivory scales.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Here's a little update, the knife is finaly ground and hand sanded and has been etch for the first time (probably two more etches will follow):

The grind is not that good to see because of the damascus, on the customers request I added a false edge on top of the blade.

But before the knife starts it journey to Hawaii, I have to get some mammoth ivory, since the last piece I had litteraly fell to pieces when I tried to work it :(.

Looking forward to your comments :).
