I know this subject has been explored here before, but I don't feel like the subject has really been fully answered.

My friend is left handed, and is looking for a fully left handed tactical knife of the same style as a Spyderco Military, Emerson Commander, or MT Socom types. Half serrated ideally.

By left handed I mean:

1) Lefty one handed opening and closing
2) Clip is on the side which allows it to be carried in the left front pocket in a similar style as most are carried in the right front pocket.

Can anybody please suggest a knife that is sold in this variation?

Much appreciated.

Left hand commanders are available from Emerson knives. They also have left hand CQC-7's. Got to their website.

The closest to the Military will obviously be the Endura. Although Zytel, it has a similiar blade shape, hole, and fully reversible clip. Same would apply to the Delica & Native in Zytel versions.

CRKT Mirage comes in Lefty versions, although they may not be considered "tactical".

Of course, you can always go with an Axis-lock knife, and have one knife that will work just as happily, left handed, or right. There are one or two which are only drilled for clip screws on the right side, but I know that the 710 and 730, which are probably the best 'tactical' choice, anyway, are fully ambidextrous.

Spyderco Endura, Delica, Native, Merlin, and Calypso Jr. lightweights can all go lefty. The Endura and Delica can be had in 50/50 combo edge and have trainer models to match. Excellent knives for the price. One of the best values out there. The Native comes in 50/50, too.

As a lefty I also completely recommend the Benchmade 710 (or other AXIS locks with reversible clips). I have been carrying one for over a year and just bought a new one with aluminum scales. It is strong and opens very easily and quickly. I have Socoms and they aren't lefty "friendly". I'll probably get flamed for this but the last 2000 Commander I held did not have the fit and finish of my aluminum version 710.

Edited for serrated.
