It was a full moon in the last day or two. For the last several years I've noticed a brownish haze - sometimes it is almost violet colored. Anybody else notice this ? It happens year round now.

I live on Vancouver Island BC.

Natural phenomenon. Dust and water vapor in the air create a haze that happens to filter out green. Thus red looks domianate It is surprisingly common, we just don’t know what to look for.

Pollution does make it worst sometimes, but eh haze is not proof of pollution. IOW, some polluted places have no have while clean places will.

The full moon was Friday 25 March 2005 at 3:59 pm.

Yes it is pollution.

There is a constant flow of huge container ship traffic from BC to Asia - these are giant diesel powered ships with no pollution control measures. I've been on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the summer time and watched these ships 20 miles away and very distinctly smelled diesel exhaust on the air.

We have an endangerd marmot subspecies that has been extensively studied - fat samples were taken from these marmots and they showed very high levels of PCB contamination . The pollution is thought to have come from Asia and is deposited on the mountains in rain and snow which then gets into the food chain.

No doubt I'll live another day but it does make you wonder if this air pollution is one reason why 1 out of 2 men in North America will get cancer.
