Good morning
Can someone tell me where I can find good replacement omega springs for the 275 Adamas. Ther are alot of choices on etsy and ebay for what looks to be the small ones to fit the bugout, 940 and many of the smaller Benchmade but i cannot find a single one that specifies the 275 in the description. I received this knife as a Christmas gift and absolutely love it. No springs have broken but I would like to have at least a source I can go to and a few spares on hand. I have noticed that the tension on these sprigs is somewhat weaker then the ones on my other Benchmades ( turret, and superfreek) which is a little cause for concern. I spine whacked the Adamas with medium impact and encountered no issues. Lock up is solid with no blade play. I am aware of the bad press the Adamas has received for lock failure but I have seen none of these issues yet. I do not plan on batoning or anything like that with this knife. Any help on locating the replacement springs would be much appreciated.

I have several Benchmades with the Axis lock and have never had a problem with the springs in the last 20 years: Mini-Rukus, Grippies (2), 710. I wouldn't worry about replacing the springs. I keep them lubed with BreakFree CLP. If one does break, Benchmade will fix it for you.

Thanks for your input. Omega spring controversy has been going on forever as we are all aware. All I know is I like Benchmades all three that I own have been issue free and have performed very well. Guess I get caught up in the hype about the omega a little more than I should.

Never had a broken spring until I started reading about the failures in Bugouts. Then I had 2 break in 2 separate Bugouts and one in my Mini Rukus. All within a month of each other. I found some on Amazon that worked in both models. Inexpensive enough to buy a lot of them and keep some on hand.

Do you remember what vendor it was? I have heard alot of good things about Pacificsons but it looks like they don't carry omega springs anymore.

Yeah it seems the majority of the failures are with the Bugout. Some people say if you have an issue with omega springs don't buy benchmades. Thing is I like benchmades enough to be willing to put up with this potential issue.

I only have a free account here so not sure I can link to vendors. Just search Amazon for benchmade omega springs. You will find one. I suggest replacing both at the same time. Even change out the one that isn't broken. Just tk be safe

I would guess the issues with the Bugouts are from different springs than older models and the simple fact that the Bugout is a good fidget flipper. One of my favorite Benchmades and the one that keeps me coming back to them. I've owned 3. Gave 2 to my sons and kept one for myself. It's the model that brought me back to Benchmade to be honest. But more flipping means more spring fatigue. Luckily replacement springs are cheap enough and seem to be good quality.

Found a seller that provides both sizes. Purchased two of each. Thanks for your help!

Don't sit in front of the tv flipping all night all long. Never had one break yet and some of them are 20 years old. Could still happen though. Do have a Bugout, nice light weight knife.

This is what I have in my full size Adamas. Besides the chance of the OEM springs breakings I think they are too soft for full size Adamas. These are stronger and just feel better.

I've also purchased these but have not used them yet. Look pretty much identical to the above version.

They either break within a month or never it seems. With this type of spring it's just a matter of time. Haven't had it happen myself, but I know plenty of people who've had to replace them. My oldest is a 2010 710 in m390, when I bought it the previous owner had flicked it so much the washers were worn down to paper thin, the blade was actually rubbing but it was still on its original springs. When I emailed BM to purchase washers off em they went above and beyond, new clip, screws, and threw in a couple of sets of omega springs too. If they don't have faith in these springs neither do I.
