A.G. Russell's 'Cowboy' models are essentially similar in pattern to the original (large) Case Sod Buster '38 pattern. And to boot, the handles are actually shorter AND thinner (in yellow Delrin, specifically) than the Case, and the blade is actually BIGGER than the Sod Buster's blade. In the pic below, the yellow Delrin Case Sod Buster (3138 CV) is at the left, and the A.G. Russell Cowboy is next to it, also in yellow Delrin. And in the 2nd pic below, the Case is at the bottom, and the A.G.R. Cowboy is third from bottom.
The two black models shown are Case's 2138 SS Soddie and the A.G.R. Cowboy in black 'Rucarta' (A.G.R.'s version of micarta by another name). You'll notice the Rucarta Cowboy's handles are a bit thicker than the same model in yellow Delrin.
The yellow Delrin Cowboy is a GREAT carry in-pocket, for obvious reasons. These are pretty nice knives. Blade steel is 8Cr13MoV, roughly comparable to something like AUS-8 stainless.
A.G.R. also has a smaller model called the 'Rancher', which would be well-compared to Case's smaller soddie ('37 pattern), with similar design attributes regarding handle thickness and blade size relative to the handle's size. He packed a lot of blade into these handles.
