I'm going to be getting a BK4 in the near future and was thinking about starting on a set of micarta scales for it.

I already have some blac and some tan micarta slabs laying around, but I was thinking denim micarta could look cool.

Do any of you have full sized denim scales I can see?
Post up some pics!

Blue micarta is hard to find, but The 710 makes some pretty sweet material if you can convince him...

I've made them with canvas, old jeans, etc. it's easy to do. get some bondo, something to mix it in;lay it on wax paper. put it between a couple of boards, then c-clamp it tight.there you go. nothing to it. however, I'm sure there is a better way to do it,but this way is adequate.

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned that I plan on making the micarta stock and scales myself.

I was just curious if anyone has pictures of already completed blue canvas or denim micarta scales?

Haha, this really is kinda redundant on my part, because I will probably most likely make a pair regardless!

Either way, I'd still like to see a set of blue micarta scales. I just think it would looks sweet, especially on a black blade.

this isn't a becker, but I think the blue canvas/denim thing looks pretty cool:

I made a slab out of black denim jeans but have yet to do anything with it:

Now THERE'S a setup!

I've been planning on making a similar press/form myself, it looks like it worked out well for you.
That's gonna make one heck of a set of scales.

did you epoxy or polyester resin? I am thinking of making some denim but not sure what resin to use. Epoxy is supposed to be harder and more durable but a lot more expensive.
