Here is my latest. This is probably my best knife yet. There are alot of firsts on this knife. My first guard and My first time using wood. I have been using up alot of my free micarta and g 10 so havent gotten arround to trying wood until now. this is also my first time I have gotten the blow torch heat treatment right. I used the brass rod method to test the hardness on this knife and it passed with flying colors. I do not do many knives at this point in time but hope to do more in the near future. I could not of done it without the help of Bill Burke.. thanks very much Bill for you time, instruction and of course your shop space.

Oh yes, I made the sheath as well.

here it is.

4.25 in. blade.
5160 spring steel differentially heat treated with hamon.( hard to see)
4.75 in handle in ironwood burl
brass guard and pins.

It looks like a nice one. You're a lucky dog to have Bill in your home town.

thanks Mr. Bump! I am a big fan of your knives and gun/ knife combos! I got to hold some of your knives at the Boise show and had a very hard time putting them down as well as not talking your ear off!! cant wait to see you at the next show.

Andrew, we'll be back again come show time. Be sure to stop and talk my ear off. That Boise area is a beautiful place to visit and the people were the best.
Give Bill B my regards.

Dear Mr. Burke,

As a professional chef, I'm slowly creating this inner desire for becoming a knife maker. Its quite consuming I'll tell ya. But till the day comes when I forge my first blade, I've been a huge admirer of yours. On the website Knivestogo.com - it says that you have a line of chef knives that you are working on? I found out all about your knives from Daniel at EpicureanEdge and I'm fascinated by your method of carbon stainless blending and its creation of an amazing edge. I NEED ONE !!!!! My question to you is if and when you are coming out with these gorgeous knives? I'll be first in line.

Thanks for your time, your work and many others (Caffrey, Torres, Rader) all are very inspiring to me a culinarian and craftsman
