Just got the word today that I head back to Peru 9/25/12 for a little jungle expedition. I figured I better finish up the knife.

I used orange Rit Dye to dye a tan sheath. Another mod to the sheath was removing the top snap. I'm not planning on jumping out of a plane. I replaced top snap with some bungee type cord. I got that idea from Iawoodsman.

In the pocket on the front of the sheath I have a Norton Fine India stone. That particular stone worked great down there for retouching my parang and other knives. I also included a Bic lighter.

The handle is orange. I purchased it from K9 Handler. He does fine work. The stainless screws I got from my bro Scott. The edge I did myself after learning how to do convex edges from Jerry Fisk.

I'm excited to bring it down there! I'll let you know how it worked out. I'm sure it will be fine. This particular knife has been used heavily by me in recent months.

Not a big orange fan here, but that turned out damn good.

I like it. K9's scales are slightly wider than stock, correct?

That looks outstanding. I do like Orange. It isn't tacticool or threatening, and if you put it down, it's easy to find. The look says, "work knife", and I bet it walks the talk!

Happy trails!

I dig it! May it serve you well on your upcoming adventure!
I find that my 16 has been getting used a lot lately, too. It's just handy.

Wow, I kinda love that thing! Honestly, if you just described it to me, I think I would hate it, based on a description only, without seeing it. However, seeing the pics, I like it a lot. Great work, man, I'm sure it will serve you well down there!
