I'm thirsty for fully serrated blades. Help me choose. 4" blade Talwar, Vaquero, voyager, or Hold out.

I have all of the above. I love them all. I recommend one of each. Damn you, Lynn Thompson!
The Xlg serrated Vaquero is available at Knifeworks for the ridiculously low price of $36. I don't think they make partially serrated in the Vaquero.
I think the serrated Voyagers are all 50/50.
The Hold Out is a sick knife. I have all three sizes. They want a whopping $29 for a large serrated one at KW.
I got an Xlg fully serrated Hold out from Knife Center for $40 something a month or two ago. I don't know what the heck I am going to do with it, but I am glad I got it!:)
Knife Center has identical good deals on Cold Steel, serrated over-stock right now.

I got the hold out 2 on the way. 4" blade and g10 for $30 is a smokin deal. I was gonna pick up the big vaquero but I think they are sold out. Oh well I probably wouldn't carry it much anyway. My X2 voyager is collecting dust but I have my eye open for discontinued 4" serrated models.

Now I got the xl vaquero on the way too. Gotta grab em while you can.

I have a serrated Hold Out 1 and a Voyager Vaquero Large. I don't find Cold Steel's serrations very good for general use, but if for some reason I felt I needed to carry a folding knife that "makes a statement", that Hold Out 1 would sure get the job done...

Of the three you list, the 4" Voyager Vaquero has been discontinued, so I'd say grab one now if you want one (grab a serrated and non-serrated if you can). The Voyager clip and tantos are half serrated, and to be honest I prefer a knife to be either fully serrated, or full plain edge, combo edge doesn't really work for me. I only have the plain edge Talwars, but they have a needle sharp point, I can imagine them being very slicey with Cold Steel's serrations, and they have the wave feature for quick opening from the pocket.

I do have the serrated 4" Hold Out. I'm fairly sure that the Hold Outs are the lightest of Cold Steel's knives in any particular size, the Hold Out 1 is lighter than any of the other CS mega-folders I own. I'm not sure but I think it is being discontinued too, so you can get it for about half the price of the plain edge version. I did get the IIIs too, but they feel a bit small in my hands.

To me, the "wave" feature on the Talwar sets it apart from the others. I like the thumb-plate better than thumb-studs, but I think I am in the minority on that.

I wish I didn't pass on those fully serrated voyagers that were available on the bay not too long ago. Now they are scarce and way overpriced.

I have a number of the original Vaquero Grande and full SE Voyager 2XL NIB. I snapped them up just before they were discontinued. Get all three but get then in the largest size available as CS tends to phase styles in and out over the years.
