Hung this bench axe tonight on a 16" broad hatchet / lineman's axe handle from the Hickory Handle Store. I like the way it came out. This is my first time with this type of axe.

Nicely done!

I am patiently awaiting a 28" fawns foot from Hickory Handle Store myself. Got an old 2 1/2lb Hults Bruk from my local dump for free. Its in perfect condition except some light rust. Took care of that with an overnight soak in vinegar though. Will make sure yo post pics when its done.

Thanks Woodsplitter and bearhunter. I recommend Hickory Handle store for these handles (16"). Bought a 16" broad hatchet handle from House Handle and wasn't impressed.

You can find decent broad hatchets for pretty cheap on the 'bay. I picked this one up recently. It's beveled on both sides:

Finished this one today. Fulton Merit Mark Bench axe. Hung this on a 16" broad hatchet/lineman's handle. Added a Lanyard hole. a little raw linseed oil bath.

Does anyone else use old maple syrup bottles for linseed oil? :)

No metal wedge on this one.

Boy, nice job. I have had trouble with those before, especially if I try and keep the contour of the eye.

So, tell me about Fulton..... :)

I use a old pump style hand soap bottle, works great, you can actually push the pump down and dribble the blo on with out loosing much off the handle.
