Fun at Ashokan

The Ashokan Seminar in New York was as usual, awesome. The information was great, the camaraderie, the food, you name it.

Mike Spangler, notable knifemaker from "Bahston" (Boston) thought that the seminar, good as it was, could use a little something extra. A little zing... some more spice. Maybe a little diversity.

On my way home, I got the attached photo along with this caption:

"I cut myself tying a rubber dick under your car. love mike"

I think I can speak for all in attendance that Mike's addition will undoubtedly draw a larger, and certainly more diverse crowd in years to come. Thanks, Mike.

I can't belive Spangles would do something like that!:eek: You would have thought the 20 or so "Burt Foster" masks that Matt brought would have been enough fun for one weekend. Guess not. ;)

I have no idea who incites these shenanigans... he must be a bad man.

It's pretty apparent who the rapscallions are in this crowd... they'll likely be segregated at all the shows in the future.

For myself, I try to keep away from hooligans like this, and keep to a lifestyle that's based closer to the teachings of scripture.

This being my first time attending alittle hazing was expected but Mace gave me advice to swear by:
"No Paul no matter what these guys tell you, you do not have to suck on it, you may, however, have to put it in your mouth."

In all seriousness, if you have never been to Ashokan, you should go...it is the birthplace of MUCH of many beautiful things about this community, and a few nasty ones.

I could post a picture of one of the miscreants with the offending "tool" that he found in a box of thread spools that "Spike Mangler" was offering for sale, but that would be too rude. Instead, I'll just post the link. If you look, it's your fault.
