Found today.... Schrade Old Timer 340T (NY USA) ... I gave $11.00. At the same sale
I picked up a fly fishing float tube $10.00. Got it home and found deep in a storage
pocket a Buck 110 with leather sheath along with a stringer, and some spinners and
flys. . Both need some appreciation....have started with WD40 soak.

I must be living right ! :)

Ok fellas.. thanks... I thought I'd start with a quick appreciation of the float tube
Buck 110....

... quick soak with WD-40, sink-running water-soap-toothbrush scrub-blow dry-
quick buff of brass-dollop of wife's sewing machine oil .... and, a light coat of same
on the dry leather sheath. I like what this knife is giving back. (I realize I didn't take it
to the nth degree...but, much improved over when I pulled it out of the float tube).
Now... on to the important stuff....the blade !

cell phone photos not as nice as it looks in person.

Edited to add : Sorry that I posted this in the wrong thread . Meant to put it in the Old Knives Thread
Rescued 3 at an antique shop today . None are what you would call in real good shape but all were worth the money . The next logical step for the dealer would have been the trash hopper .
Cattaraugus 22219 with the Pen Blade broken off but otherwise in decent shape . Brass Liners , great Snap tight pins and bone , no cracks , lots of life left in main clip blade , tight shield , $4.50

JA HENCKELS over Germany : Steel Liners , probably Ebony covers , pins tight , snaps open and closed , tight covers , can not determine age yet , $7.20

IMO the Gem of the 3 is the C LUTTERS LOEWEN MESSER : Steel Liners , Rat Tailed Bolsters , tight steel pins , tight covers with no cracks , maybe Cocobolo , good snap open and close , Great Stamping on Spear Blade , Nick in Blade , can not read Tang Stamp very well yet , $ 7.20

I would be thrilled with that haul Harry.

Ok... finished clean up & sharpening. A couple observations... seems the float tube
Buck 110 took an edge much easier than the Schrade Old Timer carbon steel (twice
as long). On the 34OT the clip point & Sheepfoot blades snap open & closed but
the spey blade is tight, snaps open but needs assist all the way down to close. None
of the blades wobble. Very pleased with the way these both turned out... looking forward
to EDC with these.

note... take a look in your tackle box / hunting /camping gear... might be a good time
to rejuvenate your knife blades .
