Last weekend my friend and I took a little trip to break in two CGNMFSHs and a Survie GSO 10. Had a blast and will be doing it again very soon!

Love that Hi-Lift Jack Mounted in front of the windshield man. If that's what that is. Very cool mount. Which blade performed best for that application?

Thanks for the sweet pics- :)

I miss the snow, looks like a good time. Let us know your findings on the two blades.
I was lucky enough to have scored both but haven't had the chance to do a side by side in the field.

FHM615, it's my friend's jeep and I believe you are correct on the hardware.

Both knives did very well. Surprisingly well. Both chewed through trees and branches with ease, both had lower vibration than we expected, both offered multiple handle positions and were very comfortable under hard use. While the FSH had the better initial chopping, due in part to the wieght and spinal girth, the Survive really held its own. The deeper belly and thinner spine allowed us to baton everything through faster.

I really don't want to get into a which knife is a better knife conversation, since I am not even close to an expert and as I am a huge supporter of both companies. Both are made with tremendous pride here in the USA, both make exceptional tools with incredible materials and craftsmanship, both have a no questions asked warranty. Glad you guys enjoyed the pictures, there will be more to come :D

beautiful pics, thank you for sharing. Looks like a good time. It is such a nice day here I am torn between going on a chopping expedition and watching football...I think football is going to win though.

Its 3v. Although not a Busse kin, I still have to appreciate a great knife when they come around.
Now the NMFSH is gonna be hard to beat.

Pardon my noobness, but i have no idea what a "CGNMFSH" is and cant seem to find any information on that designation. Can you dumb it down a little for me? I really like the looks of them and their handles seem very well done.

The OP stated that he brought two Combat Grade Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Steel Hearts and a Survive GSO-10 on a trip in the woods.

thanks FTR :)

The other manufacturer is Survive. A one man unit (as of now) based out of Gettysburgh, PA. He uses 3V, M390 and Elmax.

The handles for the Busse are black linen micarta and black and blue (bruiser) G10; the Survive handle is a natural linen micarta.

Thanks for the clarification, FTR. Those are some fine looking knives. Dont seem to be for sale anymore. At least i couldnt find them on any of the busse pages.

Awesome!!!!! Nothing better than thrashing a knife like this knowing it will handle everything you give it. Nice pics!

Always fun to go out chopping. Spent about 4 hours on New Years eve chopping and we had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pics and congrats on having some great blades.
