Hi Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! :)

Today I accidentaly stumbled upon the Brisa Bigmuk blank that I really found nice.... and for less than 60€.... I could not resist...

Made of 80CrV2 Carbon steel with a nice 240mm (9,44') long blade and a sensible 4,2mm (0,165') thickness it looks like a very capable chopper...

It will get a simple kydex sheath with a dangler, that is what I can work on with without any issues...

Well, now for the handle material? Shall I use standard micarta or something more fun? (Stabilised wood or Suretouch or ???)

Any Ideas?

You all have a good one :)

Thanks everyone! These are already great recommedations!

This is how they sell it as a "whole knife":

Looks very nice, but I think I'll go for something darker & more grippy, to be able to chop without slipping.

Delivery is scheduled for next week Tuesday, I am really looking forward to it.

I have received the blade and some black suretouch... And stupidly I had an Idea...

What would you think of a cutlass type mod here? (Sorry just a doodle in word... :) )

My inner youthful pirate loves it! 🏴‍☠️ Brings to mind an H. L. Mencken quote...
