I haven't worked with any cable damascus for quite some time but, I finally had an order come up that required it...so, I decided to play a bit and was really pleased with what I got back from the effort.

The blade was made from three seperate cable billets that I stcked, reforged and re-twisted prior to forging the blade.

The cable is, awesome! I will put that in my to do jar. Tess, the double died sheath is really stunning. I like multi toned and textured sheaths, they have so much character. Have fun at the Blade show.

About five more weeks :grumpy: The Press arrives!!!:):D:thumbup: the shop is ready. I even cleaned.

Very nice! I second that sheath being a beauty , is that like a Viking style horse ? Very eye catching. Birds eye maple on the scales ? whatever it is , it's beautiful.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it... as does Tess. The sheath is actually carved with a "winged bull" from the "Book of Kells" carvings. The wood unlike the damascus was not fun to work. It is stabilized Eucalyptus burl. It is a real pain to work. If you let it get too hot it turns green and likes to curl on you. This was my last order with that wood and I'm not using it again.
:barf:

I like the way you play with the cable. I think I'll try playing your way. Vary Nice.

How do you get the contrast with the cable? Were the 3 cables of diferent steel? Nice job by the way!
Cheers Ron.

Thanks again.

Nope, the three billets were all cut from the same length. It's gotta just be that good New England bridge cable.

Right Joe.;)

I Agree that is a sweet knife and sheath combo
I have a bunch of crane cable,I never tried that fancy bridge stuff yet  I'm sure one day i'll step into alot of it on a job,That'll be a real free-for-all:D
