Saw one of these wood gas stoves on another forum and decided to make one with a couple of modifications.
Of course Kay made me a little sack for it.
...and everything nests together.
Separated out and ready to go.
A lighter and some PJ cotton balls in the burn chamber.
A couple minutes of sharp Beckerness applied to a dry split.
And away we go....you use a "top down" fire in these.
When the fire catches good, slip the outer chamber over the burner chamber.
It's burning. You can barely see the blue flame of the gas burning.
Set the pot stand on, and the water.
Bubbles. I could have gone to a rolling boil easily, but a soft boil is fine for coffee.
Coffee time. The fleece sack makes a great pot holder.
I really enjoy making something useful out of free materials. It was just a few soup cans and a coat hanger bail. Took about an hour to make.
Thanks for looking.
