Is there anywhere you can get a functioning flintlock that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? All of the replicas I've seen online are non-firing, and the antiques all seem to be very expensive.

Do they still allow possesion of functioning flintlocks in California? I thought they fired too fast for the liking of the local legislature.

Lyman, T/C, CVA... to name a few. Flintlocks are popular in Pennsylvania since we have a three week "primitave weapon" (flintlock and archery only) deer season each year after Christmas. I leave tomorrow for a three day hunt with my Lyman Deerstalker.
