One of the highlights for me this time of year is seeing all the different Fungi on my hikes. My knowledge of Fungi is sorely lacking but I still enjoy admiring their shapes and colours !

I think these are Yellow staining mushrooms:

On the way to the Inlet I found some pretty fresh deer tracks:

Once at the Inlet I started making a fishing spear but the wood kept splitting unevenly so in the end I gave up and used it to make a fatwood torch:

Check out the size of this Jellyfish I found at the Inlet, Maisy and Snicker went in for a closer look !

I then began the steep climb back up through the forest toward the Trail head parking lot:

Found some more Fungi as I made my way back:

great pics as usual pit. nice fatwood torch i made one like it a couple weeks back and it burned for about a hour, i was very impressed with it. and your right that jelly fish is huge. you need to keep the tiny terror back that jelly could tear em up

Love those creatures, fungus and jellyfish.
Looks like it is interesting to your dogs as well as we humans...
Thanks for sharing lovely pics, pitdog.

I like the fur bristling on Maisy's back as she approaches the jellyfish. 'Cuz ya never know.

Awesome photos as always bro, I think you are one of the few here that like observing fungi as much as I do. Splitting a fishing spear can be a pain with certain woods. That is a big jelly fish, no wonder it caught the dogs' attention.
