When I first saw this one I got a little excited until I kept reading as in this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Schrade-Desert-...ryZ48820QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Schrade USA used to make up to 10 prototypes before production, here is quote:
IF IT PASSED THAT TEST THEN THEY WOULD MAKE ENOUGH (SOMETIMES AS MANY AS 10 TO PRESENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THEIR INSPECTION. THEY WOULD THEN VOTE TO SEE IF THE KNIFE SHOULD GO INTO PRODUCTION. EACH PROTOTYPE KNIFE HAD THE ZEROS ON THEM AND THEY WERE ALL HELD BY THE COMPANY IN THERE STASH

The certificate that comes with the 60T says that money will be refunded if you can prove its not a prototype?? Maybe its a full production prototype??

Timstools, the wider berth, the better. however I think there must be a Taylor Schrade collector out there somewhere, who maybe drooling over this one, LOL

I can't say for sure but I think this seller only sells China knives as far as I have seen.He always sucks me into looking at his knives until I see his name.Arnold

When he first began listing his stuff, I bid on an LB3 and an LB2, knot knowing the knives were Taylor. I thought I won both of them. He rejected my bids, and did not offer any explanation why. I realized thy were Taylor while I was trying to find out why I was rejected. At that point I never pursued the reason.

Anyone want an UH4?? He has em.

I think someone needs to ask him which desert his ironwood is coming from, the Mojave, the Sahara,or the Gobi.I'd bet on the last.Arnold

I'll tell ya, all the "old timers" iv'e seen with "ironwood" looks nothing like desert ironwood to me, the color is too light-looks more like stained maple burl to me!
