"Funny Folder" Legal?

I don't think it would be easy for anyone to balisong or gravity this knife... Looks legal enough.

as far as i can tell from the video, it does not meet the criteria for an auto or gravity knife.

it does not use inertia, gravity, spring, button, or flick of the wrist to open.

I have one and think it is legal too! The only way in NY this could be a weapon is if it was carried as one ( for self defense). I would say it is clear of any gravity knife defintion. Just make sure there is no local law that prohibits a kinfe that does not look like one( there is a propsed law in NY that bans lightes and combs that have kinfe blades also). I think you are fine with this knife.

I also have one, and I would also concur. As the video reviewer points out you can open it one-handed, but it's a feat of prestidigitation to do so and quite slow and clumsy. You can't flip it out fast in an intimidating fashion. Most legal problems with knives has to do with being "scary" and this isn't at all.

I'm thinking about what it would take to flip that open with one hand. It's hard to look intimidating when you're bleeding that badly.
