Funny story about Ginzu knives (in a thread about product failures during a demo)

Not sure how funny it is when someone gets a serious knife injury. But it is a good lesson on not volunteering to assist someone in demonstrating a knife. Especially if it is the kind of demo that aims to be dramatic.

I don't know when that happened, but it sounds to me like the salesperson should have been taken out and beaten; not just for causing such an injury, but for not being aware of what the knife could do. Imagine the liability that brought on the sales guys' employer.

As for volunteering - I believe in N.A.V.Y. = Never Again Volunteer Yourself.

Ouch! Reminds me of that magic trick where a magician asked for a volunteer and the trick involved slamming the lady's hand down on a bit knife, like a chef's knife. Of course the trick was to result in nothing happening, but for whatever reason the magician slammed her hand (palm side down) right onto the knife and it stabbed into her palm pretty good!

+1 to orca's N.A.V.Y. :)

:jerkit: I was expecting a video clip worthy of Utube......... The funny part was the guy passing out over a bit of blood......... :(

Other people's pain. I got it.:)

A french thang, perhaps?

"I find everyone's pain funny but my own. I'm French!" Jean Reno as Le Frog, in Flushed Away. (My favorite line in the whole movie.)
