funny video

LOL that was funny :D

Whos that fella anyway?

At first I thought he was going to show us how to use the pen as a self defence weapon... then he pulled out his glock???

We obviously need to pass laws against carrying pens and tire irons.

LOL! Kneel before this mighty warior! RRRRRRRRRRRR! :-))) thanx for the fun! I can stick a knife from 1.5 meters too...fear me!

Lol! The bloody wankers in "I hate the Irish" ville having some fun. Shame none of them can defend themselves except with pens and tire irons.

Dragon, what Janich was doing was creating a destraction, and temparally blinding an opponent to give you a little extra time to draw and fire your weapon.

It sucks that they were making fun of him for what he was doing though.

(espically since I also throw knives, and operate a circus sideshow as well)

They weren't making fun of him...they were being entertained.

You've got to understand, few Brits have ever seen a gun (unless a criminal is shooting them with it), so they were in awe at the strange device.
Strange and magical...just like the wonders of a Medieval carnival (and their teeth are in about the same condition as the carnival-goers' were).

If you carry a halfway decent gun, why would you bother with a ballpoint pen?
"Pretty impressive, ha?"
pretty funny video

Funny. Love the pen action -- gotta go watch that again

I think he makes a good point though -- real self defense doesn't always look as cool as it does in the movies.

The video is funny, but Mike Janich is no joke. Search yahoo for "martial blade concepts", and go to "about Michael" if you're interested.
Also, he is a member here.

Remeber what they told you in school. Don't throw pens and pencils, you can lose an eye.

Also with practice, you can most definatly stick pens and pencils, of thrown just right.

michael janich, worked with spyderco at ronin and spot knives, from what i know

He also developed and worked for MOD knives masters of defense and I believe currently works for blackhawk knives...He is an author of many books, and a well respected knife enthusiast...I thoguht the video was funny, but I hate to laugh at Michaels expense, he is a great addition to the knife community...with many accomplishments...but thats brittish humor for you I guess...the host as well as the audience are just sheeple and find stuff like this ammussing, but us knife guys know better...;)
