furniture stain

I have a fair background in paints, varnishes, etc. I agree 100% with Andrew Taylor's response that he put on your original thread. I don't know why you didn't either.
 
Patience. Not everyone knows the answer to the questions they read. Sometimes it takes a while for someone sure enough of their experience to show up.

It only took one day! That's not really a long time for an unusual topic.
 
Esav: thanks for reminding me of that. i guess i got used to reponses coming quickly and never even realized that maybe somebody else didn't know either.
i will be more patient befor i start whining.
 
ok, so its been awhile but i thought i would post some pics of my knife now that is been (long) finished, so that those that helped me out and read this originally can see how it came out.

i thought it would be better to post here then start a whole new thread so there is some background.





p.s. my engraving skills are lacking, but it was my first attempt. did it with a dremel. also sanded out a small diviot to make opening easier.

again thanks to all that helped me out.
