I just wanted to share this as I've bought fifteen knives in the last 3 weeks
and maybe just sharing with you will keep me from buying another

Now this is a fixed knife with a "Damascened stainless steel blade" whatever
the heck that is. Seriously I am betting odds that the steel layer marks
are laser etched into the blade and it is not really layered forged steel.
So the test would be to take a wire polishing wheel on a grinder to see
if the layer marks buff out. Man those chinese dont miss an opportunity
it seems! But what if the marks dont buff out ? ? ? It would be worth
the 7 bucks just to look at even if it wouldnt cut cheese.

They're not layers, they're finger prints. Yep, seems the new guy they hired for the factory is from Syria, Damascus to be exact. His job was to take the blades one at a time and dump them into the quenching tank (an old horse trough filled with real Chinese water). Inadvertantly, he didn't use the gloves he'd been given to pick up the air cooled blades and take them for their final quenching. As a result, his fingerprints became etched into the blades' surfaces. The knife makers have had to take a beating, though, and are selling them as seconds. Thus, these knives are being sold at a fraction of their otherwise eight dollar price.

Each knife has its own distinctive pattern of Saadallah's fingerprints. Get them while they're hot...or ummm...warm. Each comes with its own certificate of authenticity. Guaranteed to have a RC of at least 39, it's a knife that is sure to make a lasting impression. Ooops, that's Saadallah, not the knives, but you know what I mean.

Since you call me Buddy I feel like we're brothers or something. I'm honored.
I like to browse through catalogs and this personality flaw I have forces
me to want to look at the lowest price stuff (might even mean I like junk )
to find the hidden gems or what is interesting to me. If it doesnt
interest you then I think you should comment on it since the subject
title drew you to look. After all this is a discussion forum.

Why dont you share what interests you.
