Sorry about the new thread, I cannot find my original thread on the subject. If I a mod could add this to my original thread, it would be appreciated, thanks.

I picked up a 112 last month at a flea market. The blade had been replaced, and the stock scales had been changed out for elk horn stag. The mod wasn't a bad job, just no where close to custom shop perfection. Little imperfections here and there. However, the tip sticks out of the bolster, enough to snag on pants pockets, and possibly, though thankfully not yet, snag on some flesh. The former owner had a sheath, which is ready to fall apart. I only carry in my pocket, I don't carry belt sheaths. I was going to get a new 112 sheath for the knife, but decided against it in favor of pocket carry. BTW, it will not be my EDC, just something different to carry. Maybe big brother to my RAT Burke cattleman and Mnandi, for dress carry.

Any opinions, other than live with it? :D

You could file down the "kick' or tang area. This would let the blade sit lower in the handle. Tape all the area around the kick and take it slow and easy. It is very easy to get into the bolster if you try and do it too fast. I had a 303 that I had to file the sheepsfoot on.

Hi STD,
As this 112 was customized it is no longer covered under Bucks life time warranty. However, you can have it properly repaired by one of the many knife smiths who are around. Leroy Remer who was a long time Buck employee and worked in the Old Custom Shop; Runs Triple-R-knives and can be called at 619-561-2442. His work is the best.

I got a old 112 the other day and the blade point was just sticking up over the edge. I took my trusty 303 and dug in the blade well and pulled out a hunk of nylon cord jammed down in the corner. Blade worked fine after that.....lint will do the same....300 Bucks.
