Hey everyone i think I found a "tacticool" knife that I like, but don't know if it is any good. Does anyone know about this knife? It's a Fury Tactical Tempest Folding Knife.
"Joy Enterprises is the manufacturer of FURY, FURY Tactical and Mustang products and the exclusive USA importer of Muela of Spain. With production in the USA, Europe and Asia, Joy has been providing high-quality, valued priced products since 1941. Many of our products are proprietary designs; others are inspired by classic cutting instruments and edged tools. Joy is proud to offer a limited lifetime warranty on all products. EnJOY and be careful."
This particular knife was made in China and (given the price) quality is probably very low.
However, Muela of Spain has been making high quality knives for generations, using quality material and construction, and Fury reserves the right to brand Muela imports. So not all Fury-branded knives are crap... but there is a difference between branding and manufacturing...
If you want a modern folder, I'd recommend saving up a few more bucks and trying to acquire a CRKT Drifter, or if you don't mind traditional styling, as others have stated the Opinels are a great value for the price, and sport good blade steel, and an excellent blade profile that'll cut like crazy.
I actually have this knife - it's not junk. It a heavy, solidly built all steel version of the CS Black Rock Hunter. For 8-9 bucks you could do much worse.
If I was going to spend about $10 on a "tactical" knife I would spend it on an Enlan EL-01. The forum on the other side of the pond seems to have nothing but good things to say about it. I actually tried to get one to check it out but it was seized by Customs Canada.
Other cheap knives to look at would be the Ganzo G704 and G710, they are well built, but they are kind of unethical, being Benchmade rip-offs.
'Fury knives are pretty much junk. I use to sell at a flemarket and they where in my junk display cases. very good sellers to people have no Idea what a good knife is and are very cheap about buying one.
