Okay folks...

Not long after I started shooting, my wife decided SHE wanted a gun, too. Of course, not just ANY gun would do. Oh, no-- she HAD to have a PURPLE one. :rolleyes:

I spent about 4 months asking around, and after finding out that at one time Kel-Tec had made the P32 in Fuschia, I figured it was the closest I would ever get. Then began the goose chase. They'd been discontinued for a couple of years already.
Long story short: Found her one. Bought it, she loves it. (And she can out shoot most of the guys at our range with it!)

Guess what?
She wants a knife.
Not just ANY old knife. Of COURSE not!
She wants one to MATCH her purple popper. :grumpy:

Seems like a saw a Spyderco or two at one time like that...
does ANYBODY know what MODELS?
Are they still available...or is this another Herculean task to find the golden apples?

ANY help with a reference to maker, model, and whether they were discontinued in 1973 but you know a guy at a little knife shop in Pascagoula, Mississippi who used to have one...

Is HUGELY appreciated!

I can't help with the Spyderco, but I saw a picture of a purple Benchmade 921 Switchback over on the Benchmade Forum. Go take a look and see if that is something your Wife might like.
 
The Benchmade Model 555 Mini-Griptilian comes in Purple. You can get one at 1SKS.

Seems kind of picky to me... but it's better than asking for jewlrey I guess. At least these gifts can kill things.
 
Benchmade makes several models in purple. Better to buy knives than other things.....
 
Don't know about spydies, you could try the spyderco forum. Many anodized knives have a purplish hue to them. Does your wife have any ideas on the knife, or is the only requirement that it be purple? Good luck in your search and welcome to the forums.
 
Benchmade 4xA Bali-Songs (such at the 42A) are either very electric green, very blue, or very purple. The trick is to find a local dealer and sort through 'em to find a very purple one.

You got a great little wife there. Keep buying her toys. For a tiny knife, Spyderco makes a fuchsia Jester with a 1.9375" blade. And here's the purple Mini-Griptilian with a 2.9" blade.

I guess you could get Darrel Ralph to do one like this in a suitable Damascus ... at least it is really purple....;)

I think it was recently discontinued, but Spyderco did produce their nifty little Jester model in fuschia. I got one for my wife. :)

Another option would be to get a knife that comes with plain titanium scales and have it anodized purple. I had my Spyderco Titanium Salsa anodized blue.

And, on a related note...
I looked for a purple frame for my Kel-Tec P-32 when I first got it, but couldn't find one anywhere. Does anyone have any leads?

Probably, that little Jester will be the direction I go.
Color seems closest to the P32's funky pinkish purplish whatever.

Now if it were ME, that gorgeous damascus Darrel Ralph would be the One...

Since she's probably gonna cut loose threads and open envelopes with it, the Ralph would probably be a little bit of overkill.

I wish I had better news for you on the P32 grip. It was NOT easy finding one, and the one I got was the THIRD I actually found (first two had NO interest in letting go of 'em). Keep your eyes open, maybe post to the KTOG forum, and I'll sure let you know if I happen to come across another one.

Depending on your local legalities and your wife's inclinations I think that the Microtech UDTs have come in purple.
