Fusing Birch Bark in the oven QUESTION

Will stacking birch bark on a carbon knife blade tang - clamping tightly and setting in the oven at 180° F for 30 minutes compromise the temper of the blade???? I'm thinking no - too low a heat but I can't say for certain - so I ask.

This fuses the birch bark so that I don't need to glue but not worth the effort if it will damage the blade.

Thanks.

EDIT - I just found my answer in this old thread - ABOUT HEATING A BLADE. I'd say I'm OK with my plan.
