Fusing two stones together

I have two Arkansas stones, one soft and one hard, and I am wondering if there would be anyway to fuse them together to make a combination stone without ruining them. I thought of super glue but I think the stones would soak it up and it would ruin the inside of the stone. Any suggestions?

baryonyx talks about using epoxy to put some of the heavily discounted blemished stones back together. Seems like it would work. I think the hardest part would be making sure it ends up reasonably level so you sharpening angle doesn't get wonky from the different sides. Otherwise, seems simple enough.

Super glue probably is a bad choice as it can shrink pretty bad and it's not great for impacts. Super glue, in general, is pretty bad for porous surfaces.

I have epoxyed a Japanese natural stone to a wooden base, people do that all the time. I assume it would work for two stones.

What epoxies would be appropriate?
Slower cure and marine grade, so it is not affected by water. Keep it at the low temperature end of it's use to minimize soaking into the stones. I use it on all kinds of stone all the time, in fact that is what I am doing right now. The exact brand shouldn't matter, it really depends on what you can get locally.

Any two-part epoxy will do the job. Just bear in mind that any glued surfaces will no longer be porous after epoxying so the two faces will have to be lubricated independently rather than permitting soak-through.
