I would love to be able to get my hands on a couple ESEE Knives, but there are no dealers in my area? I am in the DFW Metroplex. Does anyone know of a place within an hour or two?

This is all the information I turned up...

If you are hoping to handle one before you buy, you could look at some gun/knife shows in your area and sometimes you will find them there. Otherwise if you are just looking to buy, I purchased all of my ESEE's online...

Let me get with one of our whoelsalers and find out. Should have info to you by tomorrow. I'm sure there is a dealer in the DFW area.

I live near Fort Worth, but took the easy road and ordered from Knifeworks.

However your method of buying... you'll like what you get. :)

I second that. No matter whether you but at a B&M store or online, you will like what you get.

If online is your only option, then I can recommend two dealers I've had nothing but positive experiences with.

It's a disadvantage not to be able to handle the knives, but there's nothing in the ESEE line I wouldn't like, and I bet it'd be the same for you.

Good luck and God bless.

I have been reading threads in the ESEE forum all day. I am thiniking tomorrow I will just go ahead and decide which one I want and go ahead and join the ESEE family. I am actually pretty excited.

Any sugestions as to which two to start off with?

The original fort worth gun show this weekend has an OK selection of knives. A few makers show up, and the rest is mainly the larger brands. Spyderco, Benchmade, Case, Kershaw, and so on. Prices at many knife sellers leave much to be desired though.

Should be a pretty good crowd there... normally is.

My opinion would be to start with the 4. Many others would suggest that. It's a great all-arounder that will do anything you ask of it and excel at it. I myself started with the HEST, but those will slowly be harder to find now that ESEE and DPx have seperated.

No matter which one you start out with, I'll bet that you eventually end up with the whole line. They're addictive, these ESEEs. :D

I'd for sure start off with an Izula or Izula II. Their size and thickness makes them a perfect blade for everyday use and more detailed outdoor usage. The 4 makes a good all round knife it's not to big, but a little small for chopping any wood. The 5 is a great knife! It's thick, feels great in your hand and the added weight makes it a pretty decent chopper for it's length. I would also check out the Junglas. I know it can see like a really large blade, but once you get it in your hand you will absolutely love it. There really isn't a single thing that knife can't do, and the Izula makes a great pair to back it up handling the smaller detailed tasks. I hope this helps you a little, if your still feeling confused you can always check them out in a dealer first and feel them in your hand.

completely agree with this...

definitely get the izula first though!! be sure to compare prices with online dealers...the two addresses listed above have great prices that i would assume would be under most store dealers...
