Joe, any chance you guys will come out with a non-serrated, non-tanto Intrepid? The knife has been calling me, but I don't like serrations or tanto blades.

Brasso, the Intrepid design is a joint venture between Buck and
Kit Carson( the orginator of the design). Buck added the tanto
version as Kit's design was originally aimed a divers, if I rememer
correctly, with a chisel square tip.

Due to the very specialzed design of the Intrepid I don't think it's
been a real big seller for Buck as they just recently dropped the
chisel point version. From a marketing stand point I doubt that
knife such as you suggest would find much appeal.

I could live with the tanto blade, but not the serrations. I wonder if you could special order one without the serrations? The knife is supposed to have a hollow grind, but it looks like it might only be honed on one side. Anyone know whether it is sharpened on both sides or just one side. It seems to be popular on tanto blades to only sharpen one side, which also drives me nuts.

Had to go get my Intrepid to see what the edge was.

I'm back now.......It's a chisel grind. (one edge)

Don't know ,but it looks like if you want an Intrepid you're
going to have to adpt to the knife. It's as I said ...this is a
VERY specialzed design. A good knife IF you need what
it has to offer.
