To start, my condolences to the Mattis'family. I didn't know Mr. Mattis personally but from all the knowledgable posts and stuff, seem to me a very caring and kind man.
RIP sir.

Just wanted to know...
What does the future hold for Chai Cutlery?

BM, I don't think anyone here knows yet what happened to James or what is going to happen with his business, it's just too soon to know.

General was James' Forum, and you may just want to follow the Topics there as any new information comes up. Right now a lot of us are in a state of shock and feel a great sense of loss.

I suppose someone could buy the inventory and name of Chai Cutlery. However, James the man will be a tough act to follow. It would be nice if Chai Cutlery would live on and keep the memory of James present in the knife world - but it would need to be done with the similar devotion. A tough act indeed.

Too tough a job I think, Better to keep the pages here if we can and have them for a reference as has been proposed in another thread.
