Hello new to this section, i say a daggert a little while back thinking about
getting it as my first fixed blade what are your opinions

My opinion is that you should get the Gov-Tac, SEAL Pup Elite (non serrated) or the Northwest Ranger as your first fixed blade. Any one of these three would be a better choice than one of the Daggerts but hey that's just my opinion. Have a look at them anyway.

I guess it depends on what you want it for...???
I'm surprised Carl didn't recommend the Tigershark... LOL!

Depending on what you want it for, there are a few excellent choices. One is (of course) the Revolver, with saw and blade.

Northwest Ranger is good, as is the hugely underrated Field Pup...

Very comfortable, easy to carry, and priced right - a great first fixed blade.

it would be more for EDC. i really love the stilleto design. was thinking about the gov tac to. opinions?

New Pig Hunter do you have any pics of this wonderful tigershark
and what makes the tigershark so special?

Wow, beautiful knife i like the contouring does it still come with that leather sheath. i heard kydex sheaths are to big and bulky for EDC.

speaking about having a nice Tigershark (thanks BobbyB !!):

we hosted some friends the other day for the ceremonial un-decorating of the Christmas tree.
Yesterday I turned the Tigershark loose on the tree, so as to reduce it's size to fit into the "yard barrel" trash can.

The Tigershark made very short work of the tree. Nothing like using the perfect tool for the job !!

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. I have the leather sheath, but I wouldn't consider the Kydex sheath to be too big and bulky for EDC. The Kydex sheath on my SEAL 2000, if scaled up just a bit, wouldn't seem big at all.

EDCing a tigershark..... hmmmmmm... One thing is for sure, it'll be good exercise. The Tigershark is an absolutely awesome knife, and it feels perfect in the hand, but I'm not sure I'd want to EDC it!!! :D

how much does it weigh and what are its dimensions? i do want a fixed blade for EDC cause iam currently EDCing a bali, its okay but iam not lightning quick on the draw yet i want something i can deploy faster and still have fixed blade strength.

It weighs 17.1 ounces and is 14 inches long including the handle. A little big for an EDC. :D The field pup, seal pup, seal pup elite, or the Gov-Tac, would probably make better EDC fixed blades. Though the Tigershark does have a special place in my knife collection -- it was my first SOG -- and I absolutely recommend it, just not as an EDC.:thumbup:
